The Yak Chews are made in Himalaya's mountains. This consists of a mix of skimmed milk from the yak cow. A little bit of lime juice and salt is added to allow the milk to cure, afterwards being compressed in blocks and is traditionally smoked for 28 days. Hence their great unique taste.

Is salt not harmful? Well, there is less 0.1% salt and is only used in the beginning to help curing so no problem at all! 

It is advised to put the product away after 30 minutes and then offer it to your four-legged friend again at another time. It is also recommended to remove the last small piece from the dog due to the risk of choking. You don't need to throw away this last portion. When you heat the small piece in the microwave for about 30 to 40 seconds, the hard piece turns into a fragile, crumbly snack.  It will start siddering and then puffing. Like popcorn. Only no popping sound. Let it cool and it has become slightly less hard and a delicious candy. This way you can still give the last piece to your dog.
